Julissa was a ready participant in my project to do street portraits in the cities of New Jersey that I frequent the most. I met her on September 1, 2012 as I was returning from an afternoon lunch.  She was “double-checking” herself  in the mirror of a Newark Avenue store. I explained my project and she immediately gave me her name,age (I know, but I’ll tell you that she is older than 20 and younger than 30), and number of years in Jersey City (lifelong resident).  (It struck me as if she’s done this before.) Though she was in a rush to a Labor Day BBQ, she and I had a great ten minute conversation.  (And she even asked a few legal questions along the way.  I somehow have to keep the fact that I’m an attorney a secret!) All the photographs of her turned out fantastic.  This is one of three what will be posted during the upcoming weeks.  (Thanks, Julissa!)
